Gianna Isabella Magliocco
FOUNDER
Gianna Isabella Magliocco got her start assisting directors and producers on big Hollywood productions such as The Revenant, Interstellar and Cold Pursuit. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Lethbridge where she focused on filmmaking. She co-directed her first short film, BALANCE, starring Stephen Baldwin. She has since directed a number of short films including THE MAN FROM THE DINER which was shot on 16mm film and was released in 2020 at the 34th Edmonton International Film Festival & on SuperChannel Network. OPEN MIC AT THE COMEDY CABARET which premiered at the Calgary International Film Festival in 2021 and will screen on CBC National Canadian Reflections program & MIKE ON THE FARM, a short documentary which premiered at the 36th Edmonton International Film Festival prior to being screened at the CUFF Docs Series in Calgary & is now broadcast on the Telus Optik Network along with another short documentary FAMIGLIA.
Magliocco opened up Gate 67 in late 2016. Her first client was Disney, whom she produced a VFX Plates Unit for A WRINKLE IN TIME in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. She optioned the screenplay THE CURSE OF AUDREY EARNSHAW, which completed production and was released theatrically in Canada by Vortex Media in October 2020. The film received Telefilm funding and was a part of the Frontieres Film Finance Forum in Amsterdam as well as the Marche du Film, Cannes Film Festival Frontieres Platform Proof of Concept screening in 2018. It debuted at the Fantasia Film Festival where it was nominated for a Cheval Noir. It was also nominated for a Best Scripted Feature Award at the AMPIAs in 2021. The film is represented by Epic Pictures Group for world sales.
Magliocco is currently in Post-Production on her feature documentary, A PORTRAIT OF REDEMPTION IN FIVE ACTS, which was filmed in Venice, Italy.
Magliocco is represented by The Characters Talent Agency in Toronto.
